SCF Announces Over $116,000 in Community Grant Funding
Greater Sudbury, ON – The Sudbury Community Foundation (SCF) is pleased to announce that more than $116,000 has been awarded to 29 community service organizations through its 2026 Community Grants program.
This year, SCF received 52 applications requesting a combined total of $243,800 in program/project funding. The strong response reflects both the growing need for support across Greater Sudbury and the many caring, committed organizations working endlessly to meet those needs in meaningful ways.
“This year’s funded programs and projects support community priorities across arts and culture, environmental stewardship, youth engagement, health and wellness, food security, services for seniors, recreation, and community connection,” said Shelley Lachapelle, Executive Director of SCF. “We are deeply grateful to our Fund donors and supporters for making these investments possible and for helping ensure essential programs that uplift our community are available.”
Funded projects include:
- The Go Give Project – Mobile Outreach Program
- Meals on Wheels – Caring Companions Program
- Sudbury Manitoulin Children’s Foundation – PLAY Program
- Junction Creek Stewardship Committee – Community-Led Action to Address Stormwater Pollutants
- Nickel Centre Seniors Club/Parside Older Seniors Centre – Firehouse Renovations
- Sudbury Symphony Orchestra – Bilingual Children’s Concerts
- Sudbury Restorative Justice – Conflict Management Coaching

“We are also grateful to our granting committee for sharing their vast expertise and time. The committee spent approximately 100 collective hours reviewing applications and supporting documentation to provide funding recommendations,” added Lachapelle.
SCF stewards more than 60 endowed and flow-through funds established by generous individuals, families, businesses, and organizations. Together, these funds help SCF invest in local priorities and strengthen community well-being.
