Vital Signs

Greater Sudbury’s Vital Signs Report is an annual check-up measuring the quality of life in Greater Sudbury.

It showcases trends and issues, celebrates successes, and identifies opportunities for action in 10 key issue areas. In addition to providing statistical data from Statistics Canada and other respected Canadian sources, the report includes a special section that sheds light on a current or emerging area of our community life.

Past special topics include: Community Energy Edition (2015), Mining Innovation Edition (2014), Sustainable City Edition (2013). This year, we are proud to introduce the special edition topic, Aboriginal Well-Being (2016).

Experience has shown that Greater Sudbury’s Vital Signs is an important discussion piece and statistical reference for our community. The report creates greater awareness of current and potential issues facing our citizens. As an aid in decision making and policy development, it has become a key tool for many different groups working for the betterment of our community. The report is that it is written in a way that is relevant, interesting, accessible and actionable for everyone in our community. What’s more, it’s free.
