Ingram Family Scholarship Fund To Support Killarney Students Pursuing Higher Education

The Sudbury Community Foundation (SCF) is pleased to announce the establishment of the Ingram Family Scholarship Fund, a new endowment created to support and empower students from Killarney as they pursue their post-secondary education.

The Fund reflects the Ingram family’s long-standing connection to Killarney and their desire to give back to the community that has played a meaningful role in their family’s history.

"For generations, our family has enjoyed many significant milestones and memories in Killarney – from literally measuring our children's growth on the doorpost of our cabin, to marriage proposals, and memorials and to watching sunsets on the Georgian Bay," shared Bill Ingram, adding, "The Killarney community captured our hearts.”

The Ingram Family Scholarship Fund will support students from Killarney pursuing post-secondary education, including undergraduate, graduate, and professional studies, as well as training at military academies, trade schools, vocational institutions, and schools for students with disabilities. Academic achievement and community involvement will be considered assets for applicants.

“We are grateful to the Ingram Family for their investment in education and community, and for their partnership with the SCF,” shared Shelley Lachapelle, the Foundation’s Executive Director. “When the Ingrams established this Fund, they wanted to empower youth and help them achieve their dreams. That kindness is going to impact many lives.”

Students wishing to learn more about the scholarship criteria are encouraged to visit sudburycf.ca or contact the SCF office by calling (705) 673-7770.
